The Chakra Body System:
What is it? & How does it rule your life?

Our Chakra Body is a network of 72,000 energetic pathways called nadis that create a structure of 114 chakra points connected to our physical body. This network of energetic pathways and its 114 energy vortices, also known as the chakras, form the energetic structure that connects and synthesizes our auric fields, our nervous system and our physiology into one harmonic resonate system that bridges our physiology with the divine source of creation. Our Chakra Body moves this divine multi-dimensional energy throughout our entire being. The one puzzle piece that I found missing in all of my research and studies of the Chakra Body system is that our parents are the gatekeepers and guardians of this divine energy flow.

Our Chakras can be imbalanced, blocked, under-active or overactive, often leading to illness, emotional distress and creating an unhealthy environment and behavior patterns. And, because our parents created this divine portal of life-force energy (that our soul traveled though) from the spirit world into this physical dimension of reality at the moment of our conception through the sacred act of sexual intercourse, they will forever remain the gatekeepers and guardians of this divine portal and the energy that flows through it into us. This means when we experience any challenges that arise within our Chakra Body System it is often a result of unresolved ancestral and familial discord within the larger network of life force energy of which we belong that we can refer to as our bloodline or our Family or Ancestral Soul/Consciousness.
With this foundation fresh in mind lets explore the 7 main Chakra centers in our body…

ROOT CHAKRA
The Root Chakra is very literally the roots of our being. This energy center represents where we come from, how we arrived into this world and it is the very foundation of our being. This Chakra resides in our perineum and it governs our sense of survival, security and stability. If this Chakra is healthy, then we are in good health with abundant energy. We feel grounded, settled and present with who we are and where we come from. We are comfortable in our body, we feel secure, safe, seen, loved and nourished. Life is fulfilling and prosperous.
If our Root Chakra is under-active we may be neglecting the health of our physiology, neglecting our body, we may suffer from poor boundaries, depression, chronic disorganization throughout our life, fear of change, fear of not belonging and a general feeling of being overwhelmed with life.
If our Root Chakra is over-active we may be overeating, craving unhealthy processed foods and sugar. We may suffer from paranoia, nervousness and/or aggression. We may be controlling and domineering. We can also suffer from martial fixation and hoarding.
Our physical body notifies us of blockages in our Root Chakra with lower back and sciatica pain, issues with legs, feet, knees, groin, hips, ankles, rectal problems, frequent illness, malnutrition, obesity, anorexia and sleep issues.
ROOT CHAKRA HEALING MANTRAS
“I am a divine being of light. I am peaceful, protected and secure. I accept my life exactly as it was given to me. I accept my life as sacred. I welcome the sacredness of life. I am grateful for my life and I say yes to life.”
SACRAL CHAKRA
The Sacral Chakra is the heart and home of our creative forces and sexuality. This Chakra drives our soul’s desires, governs our inner divine creator and, regulates our authenticity. It resides at our waist, in the space between our genitals and our belly button. If this Chakra is in good health we have full access to our creativity and creative expression. Our hormones are all balanced. We have full access to the sensual dimensions of life and our being-ness. We have the capacity to enjoy intimacy and the simple pleasures of life. Our Sacral Chakra also allows us to be generous, nurturing and embody healthy boundaries.
If our Sacral Chakra is under-active we may not be fully emotionally available for ourselves and others. We may have a hard time accessing and expressing our emotions leaving us guarded and defensive. We may experience sexual repression and/or a lack of desire or passion for life. We may have a hard time enjoying the simple pleasures of life and isolate ourselves from our community.
If our Sacral Chakra is overactive we may have an excessive sex drive or suffer from compulsive behaviors. We may also experience tension and frustration leading us to be overly emotional, hyper sensitive and, leaving us emotionally dependent on others—constantly worrying about how others think of us.
Our physical body notifies us of an unhealthy Sacral Chakra with reproductive challenges and/or disorders with our reproductive organs, urinary system, spleen, gallbladder and/or, kidneys. People who experience blockages within their Sacral Chakra may also experience menstrual difficulties, sexual dysfunction, a lack of flexibility and dulled senses.
SACRAL CHAKRA HEALING MANTRAS
“I am authentically creating a life of freedom and bliss. I honor my body, my feelings, my creative inspirations and my sexuality. I honor and welcome the sacred sensualities of life and I am in alignment with my inner divine creator. I see everyone and everything as divine, including myself.”

SOLAR PLEXUS CHAKRA
Our Solar Plexus is our place of power, self-esteem, confidence and self worth. It is located in our gut, at the base of our sternum. This energy center gives us our capacity for responsibility and reliability with a healthy self-awareness and self-esteem. Our Solar Plexus also allows us to be spontaneous, playful and, humorous. And as our personal place of power this Chakra also provides us with the capacity to make decisions and overcome challenges and hardships.
If our Solar Plexus is under-active we may suffer from low self-worth, lack of self-trust, weak will power and an overall feeling of not being enough. A blocked Solar Plexus also manifest as victim mentality, being “flakey” or unreliable and unable to take responsibility and accountability.
If our Solar Plexus is overactive we may be overly aggressive, bossy, power hungry, competitive and always feel the need to be right. An over active Solar Plexus can also look like some who is conceited, self-centered, hyperactive and/or narrow minded.
Our physiology responds to an out-of-balanced Solar Plexus in a variety of ways including: eating, intestinal or digestive disorders, hypoglycemia, diabetes, eczema, acne, food allergies, chronic fatigue, depression and, disorders of the stomach, pancreas, gallbladder and/or liver.
SOLAR PLEXUS HEALING MANTRAS
“I am powerful, confident and successful in all of my endeavors. I honor myself and my divine strength, sovereignty, gifts and power. I honor and welcome the divine magnitude of my being and I claim all of my birthrights and ancestral gifts, magic, medicine and wisdom.”
HEART CHAKRA
Our Heart Chakra is the meeting place of “as above, so below,” where our upper spiritual chakras meet our lower earthly chakras. It is the seat of the soul and the gateway to our True Divine Essence. It is located in our heart space and it regulates our capacity for love, joy and inner peace. Our Heart Chakra provides the energies of compassion, understanding and, unconditional love for yourself and others. This chakra also regulates our capacity for empathy, inner peace and a strong healthy immune system.
If our Heart Chakra is under-active we may be shy and fear getting hurt. We may feel lonely or unloved. We may also suffer from chronic relationship problems like: feeling possessive, jealous and suspicious of others which can also lead to a fear of relationships and commitment or a being a serial dater moving from one relationship to the next. An under-active Heart Chakra can also lead to being highly critical, judgmental and antisocial.
If our Heart Chakra is overactive we may be overly empathetic, overly emotional and overly concerned. We may find ourselves comparing ourself to others with jealousy or envy. We may lack proper boundaries and, come off as codependent, clingy and have a tendency to stay in abusive relationships or, overextending and over-sacrificing ourself.
If the Heart Chakra is out of balance our physical body will notify us with disorders of the heart, lungs, thymus, breasts, arms and shoulders. This can also manifest as shoulder pain, heart ache, shortness of breath, circulatory problems, asthma and weakened immune system function.
HEART CHAKRA HEALING MANTRAS
“I give and receive love effortlessly and without limits. I know I am loved, cared for, protected and nourished. I see beauty in all things including myself, those around me and, even in my traumatic past and my past mistakes. I walk with forgiveness and compassion in my heart. I love myself unconditionally.”

THROAT CHAKRA
Our Throat Chakra is located between our throat and ears and it powers our capacity for clear communication, self-expression of our feelings and voicing our truth. Our Throat Chakra supports us in being an excellent listener and communicator. This energy center gives us confidence and creativity. This is also where we connect with music, dance, body language, art and our natural rhythms, cycles and timing of nature. Our Throat Chakra also allows us to express ourselves clearly and to be received, seen and heard.
If our Throat Chakra is under-active we may suffer from suppressed feelings, a fear of self expression and/or a fear of being accepted. We may also fear offending others, leading us to shrink, play small, stay within our comfort zone, being shy, weak and out of sync with our selves, our bodies, our divine purpose and our natural instinct for harmonizing with the rhythms and cycles of nature—including our innate capacity for discerning authenticity of what we hear and say.
If our Throat Chakra is overactive we may talk too much, be overly dramatic and suffer from an inability to listen. We may find ourselves gossiping, addicted to drama and being over-the-top. We may also be domineering, loud, and have a tendency to interrupt others.
If our Throat Chakra is out of balance our bodies will respond with ear, sinus, nasal, teeth, gum, neck and/or jaw issues. As well as, disorders with our voice, esophagus and tonsils.
THROAT CHAKRA HEALING MANTRAS
“I call back all of my life force energy, all of my power and, all of the pieces of me that I may have left behind with other people, places and, situations. I call in my True Divine Self, my body protector, my spirit guides, my compassionate and loving ancestors and, my guardian angels. I am divinely guided, supported and protected and, I speak clearly and truthfully with grace, ease and love.”
THIRD EYE CHAKRA
Our Third Eye Chakra is located in the middle of our forehead and it is our gateway into the spiritual realms of reality. This is where we access our intuition, imagination, divine wisdom and our ability for discernment of authenticity for everything we come into contact with. This is where we engage with our mental body and where we hold our ability to think and make decisions. Our Third Eye is the seat of our intuition, clair-abilities and our natural psychic capacity. This energy center also holds the key into our memory bodies (biographical, ancestral, cosmic and akashic). Our Third Eye helps us to expand our conscious awareness, dream recall and connecting with our spirit guides.
If our Third Eye Chakra is under-active we may be narrow-minded, lack imagination or have difficulty seeing the future. A blocked Third Eye also inhibits our ability to plan or set goals and our capacity to recall memories.
If our Third Eye Chakra is overactive we may be obsessed with psychic visions and suffer from paranoia, hallucinations nightmares, and/or a tendency to “space out.” This can also lead to difficulty concentrating.
If our Third Eye is out of balance our body may respond with headaches, migraines, seizures, neurological disorders, scalp and hair issues, vision problems and, mental illness.
THIRD EYE CHAKRA HEALING MANTRAS
“I deepen my connection with the divine and see the sacred in every situation. I call back all of my divine wisdom and I claim my birthrights of intuition, imagination, and psychic abilities. I am tuned into the divine and follow my soul towards my divine purpose.”

CROWN CHAKRA
Our Crown Chakra is our gateway to the divine. It is located at the top of our head and it governs our cognition, our connection to spirituality, our “higher self” and our divine purpose. It is the avenue through which we receive our divine downloads. Our Crown Chakra connects us to our cosmic identity, unity consciousness and, governs our capacity to feel loved, accepted, nourished, present, aware, spiritually supported and guided, safe and protected on Earth. Our Third Eye Chakra also allows us to receive our codes of divine transcendence and transformation.
If our Crown Chakra is under-active we may walk this Earth feeling unsupported, unloved, isolated and disconnected from the divine. We may lack trust in the universe and its luminous and unwavering support and guidance for us. And, our lower chakras may become overactive and we may be consumed by the physical dimensions of reality (i.e. atheist, blind faith in science, materialistic, consumed by any of the “7 deadly sins,” etc.)
If our Crown Chakra is overactive we may be addicted to spirituality, “new age” movements and, “love and light.” We may lack grounding and presence and feel overwhelmed and dissociate with life, yearning to get our complete our life so we can return home to “heaven.” This can also manifest as being overly concerned for humanity and bearing the weight and fate of the future of the world on your shoulders.
If our Crown Chakra is out of balance our body may respond with disorders such as dementia, autoimmune disorders, epilepsy, comas, migraines, amnesia, cognitive delusions and chronic depression.
CROWN CHAKRA HEALING MANTRAS
“I reconnect with Mother Nature’s healing energy and wisdom. I reconnect with the divine including my true divine essence and purpose. I am grateful for this present moment. I am grateful for this place and time in my life. I am one with my higher self and one with the divine.”

Wisdom & Magic
of Water
Welcome to the wisdom and magic of water. Fall is the season on the ancient Celtic wheel of the year associated with water which makes sense with Scorpio season starting on October 22nd and moving through until November 21st. So I figured this would be a great time to share some of my discoveries during my studies with water. A few years ago during my shamanic mentorship studies, my teacher and mentor asked me to spend the entire month studying water. By simply spending time with different bodies of water and allowing them to speak to me and what I learned from being with water, profoundly changed my life, my cosmological world view and forever changed how I see and interact with water.
I never realized that I would become so fascinated with water as medicine and now, I find myself talking to water everyday, every time I interact with it—it has become my normal routine and second nature for me. Its so normal in my household that I even catch my partner talking to water everyday as well. Where we live is a very water-rich landscape, living by the coast with the Gulf of Mexico and being surrounded by numerous lakes, rivers and fresh water springs. Central Florida is famous for its stunning fresh water springs and, water is an important nature spirit that influences and literally shapes the land I now call home. When I think about home, it’s no surprise I ended up here in Central Florida because when I look back through my ancestry we have always lived in water-rich landscapes.

My father was a Navy soldier and spent his entire career out at sea, living on the water and going weeks without ever seeing land, just like his father before him. In fact, my entire father’s lineage comes from a massive sea faring archipelago, known today as the United Kingdom, famous for charting and dominating the seas around the world. In my mother’s lineage we also come from water-rich landscapes originating from the Puerto Rican Archipelago in the Caribbean and the Korean peninsula which is not only surrounded by water and contains over 4,400 islands but its also famous for their fishing and seafood.

Many tribal and indigenous communities consider water as the first medicine and after my studies of water I couldn’t agree more which is why I deepen my appreciation for water as medicine each and every day. And if there is magic to be found anywhere in our world it is most certainly found in water. Water is the foundation of life, without water life as we know it wouldn’t exist. Water, itself, is a form of creation, water is needed to bring something to life, it is life force energy manifested, it contains life, it nurtures life and, we are all birthed from the waters of our mother since the beginning of time—and, what is more magical than that?
Let’s think bout how abundant this magical substance is. Our planet is over 70% water and our bodies are approximately 65% water. Water is also the only natural substance that can be found in all 4 states of being, liquid, vapor, solid and plasma. With this in mind, we can see that water is a shape-shifter and, just like us humans, water has the ability move, grow and change depending on its environment. One thing that unifies water in each of its different states of matter is that it is always moving and changing, whether it’s raining, snowing, floating across the sky, flowing down stream, melting, vaporizing, freezing, gracefully dancing in the tides or glaciers reshaping entire landscapes water is always in a constant state of transformation and movement.

Water is a building block of how we function and how all the beings on this planet function as well. For example, plants use water to create photosynthesis with their cells which, in turn, creates chlorophyll, juices and syrups. As humans, we use water in so many different ways: cleansing, cooling, detoxifying, rehydrating, lubricating, rejuvenating and even refreshing our mindset. As you can see water has a profound influence not only over our physiology but also our mind, emotions and our auric fields. Our bodies also use water and turns it into highly conductive and charged liquid plasma—the sacred waters of our ancestral lineages that run through our veins, our bones and every part of our body, we know this sacred water as DNA which also happens to be our built-in unique access code to connecting with different fields of consciousness and, communicating and collaborating with the divine. The waters of our body is also where we embody the frequency of our being and where all of the emotional memories are stored which is why when we experience certain emotions our bodies shed tears of sadness, grief and joy.
Water is also the universal solvent—water dissolves more substances than anything else. It is so incredibly responsive. We see this every time we make tea. Water has this ability as a universal solvent to take up the medicinal qualities of the herbs but water is also responsive to things as well, like the moon. We see this with the tides, the change in the emotional waters within ourselves during full moons and even in women’s menstrual cycles. We also know that water responds to the Earth’s magnetic fields and solar flares. It even changes frequency, charge, shape and, cymatic structure according to its surroundings. Therefore, water is so much more sensitive than we ever thought before and, just like all sentient beings, water has been proven to have a conscious memory and retain images and emotion.

On a scientific and academic level I loved learning about the studies of Dr. Masaru Emoto and watch his work reach a worldwide audience. So if you haven’t heard of him, Dr. Masaru Emoto is a Japanese scientist and researcher who studied the way water interacts with thought, intention and music. What he did that was really interesting was he took pictures of water as it crystalized, and he found that the same water would crystalize in totally different formations depending on which thoughts, intentions, or music it was exposed to. He showed how water would artistically “recreate" images as it was crystalizing over a photo showing that water also embodied artistic creativity and expression. It’s a really beautiful set of experiments that he did which, really inspired me to see water more as a living conscious and sentient being rather than a substance.

Discovering that water has the ability to respond to our moods, our thoughts, and the subtle energy meridians and ley lines that weave throughout space and time of our lives makes water not only magic but also quite mysterious and humans have known this for centuries. Water, of course, is foundational to the belief systems of every civilization on Earth because water is very literally, life. Even today if you visit sacred sites around the world, you’ll find many of these sites were built to enshrine a spring, waterway or body of water. Natural springs and bodies of water are the original sacred sites. They are the first sacred sites that humans truly observed and honored which makes sense since water is a bastion of life, the birthplace of life and the magical ingredient to all life. Where I live I’m surrounded by so many gorgeous fresh water springs and, wellsprings are places where we know, no matter what is happening in the world, we can still be nourished and fed by Mother Nature.
For a few years during my shamanic and Family Constellations trainings I found myself spending time in the sacred Cherokee lands of the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. Naturally being a passionate student of life I was intrigued by the Cherokee cosmology and I began studying the Cherokee wisdom traditions. And one of the things I learned is that the first medicine in the Cherokee healing arts is water. Even today, in Cherokee culture, the first medicine is always “take it to the water.” Whatever you’re experiencing, whether it’s heartache, headache or an illness, the first place they go to is the water. Water is a vital part of our everyday life and reconnecting to the sacredness of water is a soul retrieval calling us back to our True Divine Essence, our divine capacities, and the divine healing magic and medicine of water.

So now whenever I find myself stuck, struggling or uninspired, I first go to the water and let Mother Nature’s first medicine heal me, restore my flow and reinvigorate my creativity. For me its like bathing in God’s pool of life-force energy—the source of all creation. The more pure and natural the water the more potent it’s medicine. In my divine communion and baptisms with the water I found myself super sensitive especially to its temperature, much more so than the temperature of the air or earth beneath my feet. That is because when we immerse ourself into water there is a physical, emotional and mental and energetic merging that instantly recalibrates our nervous system throughout our entire body and being. Therefore we would naturally be quite sensitive and receptive to our immersion into a body of water.
In my personal experience, I have found hot water to be very energizing and I can’t stay in it for too long unless I’m under the weather and really need that energetic cleansing energy—think of steamy, piping hot showers. Warm water, on the other hand, is relaxing and soothing. I could bathe in warm water all day long because it is so comforting it calls us back to the warm waters of our mother’s womb. I also love temped water because it is refreshing, restorative and invigorating. Cool water is highly therapeutic and healing—think of the temperature of ocean water, natural springs, streams and rivers they tend to be cooler in temperature. And, cold water is fortifying and strengthening—think of ice baths and polar bear plunges.

Some magical practices that you can do to work with water is Water Whispering, imagine sitting by the ocean or a babbling brook and bathing in the sound of moving water, you will quickly discover that there are many voices to water and we can receive messages just by sitting with the water. So in water whispering, I go and sit by the fountains in or pond outside my house or even out in nature where I can hear the water in motion and I simply voice my concerns and my questions out to the water and then I listen in presence and stillness allowing myself to be open and receptive. Now, in my experience, I don’t physically hear words from the water hitting my eardrums—it more like an inner state of communication. My feelings change, I receive and download new insights and perspectives, sometimes I even receive images that play out like a daydream. I’m always amazed by what I receive, innerstand and feel just by sitting with the water and listening to its magical melody of its divine wisdom.
Now if you don’t have any running water where you live or you don’t live near any large bodies of water, you can try this exercise in the shower, bathtub or even with a bowl of water. Gazing into a bowl of water is an ancient technology and art form used to connect with the divine called scrying. In order to be proficient in this ancient art form, you will first need to get into a meditative state and stare onto the surface of the water, and just notice if you can receive any kind of message or input from the water as you let yourself sink into this relaxed state of being and altered state of consciousness. I always like to add a little bit of salt and liquid chlorophyl to my scrying water but in ancient times it was customary to offer some of your blood into the water.

The next water magic ritual is water elixirs. So we’ve already explored how water can be a medium for taking on the healing and energetic properties of plants, words, thoughts, ideas, music, pictures and intentions. So the easiest kind of water elixir you can make is to write an intention and tape it onto a container of water and let it sit outside in the sun to be structured by the divine solar light codes and then overnight to be charged by the moon, especially a full moon, so that the water can also receive the therapeutic lunar energies in all of her fullness. This is also a beautiful way to get clear on what kind of magic you want to manifest in your life. Ask the water and the cosmic forces that shape our reality to support your intention and then of course you can drink this water elixir.
My favorite water elixir that I do each and everyday is charging my purified water in a copper vessel and adding freshly squeezed organic lemons and trace minerals and I voice my intention into the water.
“Dear divine scared water, thank you for your divine healing magic and medicine and blessing my body with your divine magic and medicine of inner peace, unconditional love, joy, vitality, rejuvenation, rehydration and purification, thank you dear divine sacred water.”
I also do this with my animal’s drinking water and my shower water each and every morning. This truly helps me anchor and embody the divine magic that is all around us that I never fully recognized, noticed or harnessed before. Water is a form of divine natural intelligence that interacts with the world around it to create, carry, connect, charge, cleanse, feed and flow. It is has an emotional intelligence all of its own and we also have the capacity, as divine creators, to calibrate with the magic of water and increase its potency by using our written and spoken intention and blessings.
We can even get even more creative with our water elixirs by adding crystals and making a stone elixir. Now not all crystals should be allowed in your drinking water however, working with any stone in the quartz family is a safe way to make a stone elixir. I personally enjoy using clear quartz, shungite, jade and copper. Clear quartz is great because it is a highly programable master stone— this is why we use clear quartz in all of our modern-day technology. Shungite is excellent for detoxifying and purifying the water, our bodies and our energetic fields. Jade is what I have in my animals’ drinking bowls and it promotes good health, vitality and good fortune and, of course my favorite, copper gives water a healing electric charge that rejuvenates all the cells in our body. I also add in salt crystals which helps to crystalize the structure of the water which also aids in the coherent crystallization of our bodies by adding a more crystalline-structured energetic charge within the frequency of the water. Even batteries are made with water and salt electrolytes because it creates a an energetic charge and our bodies are a bio-electric being therefore, adding a pinch of salt in to my water elixir has become my routine.
Water elixirs aren’t just for drinking, you can also use water elixirs to bless and sanctify something, someone, or some place and this is a practice I often weave into all my healing retreats, circles and workshops. Most people are familiar with the practice of flower essences. There was a British physician in the late 1800’s name Dr. Edward Bach, who was the first physician of his time who started experimenting with floating flowers in water and then using that water elixir to treat all kinds of ailments—both physical and emotional. This is why I grow, harvest, collect and create my own healing herbal bath essences and salt rituals. The truth is that you can make an essence from anything with water. If water responds to our thoughts, our intentions and our emotions than you could set a jar of water out in the middle of a gathering to capture the energy of that gathering. You could set a bowl of water out underneath the full moon and capture that energy. There is even an ancient shamanic technology that uses for water is for energetic space clearing and protection that I use in my home.
The key to success is, the clearer you express your intention with the water the stronger the medicine will be. As we’ve seen, water responds to thoughts, so if you’re clear with your intent of what you’re asking this elixir to become, then the medicine will turn out that much more potent.
I think it is important to remember that we are 65% water and if water is so programable and sensitive, than aren’t the waters of our body also responding and reacting to our thoughts, emotions and surrounds especially to what we think, say and feel about ourselves… Even in light-hearted and joking ways like, “I’m so dumb.” The waters of our body are responding to this frequency you are emitting even if it was a joke. So I love thinking about water magic because it also teaches me how to program and recalibrate myself and the water within my body to resonate with frequencies of peace, love, joy and gratitude which is why I bless my water everyday before drinking it and bathing in it.

Another magic water ritual is anointing, water anointing is a very ancient and sacred practice. It is something I like to do whenever I’m communing with a body of water. I like to get my feet and hands into the water and anoint my face and arms. When doing water anointing, make sure you get the most energetically special water you can find— so whether that is full moon water, an elixir you’ve created, or water from a sacred wellspring in the world or even wild water out in nature, which may not be the cleanest water but if you bless the water you can then use it to anoint yourself. If you ever have the opportunity to visit a sacred wellspring of water somewhere in the world you can collect a bottle of this water and take it home with you and use that for anointing as well. We see this practice in churches with holy water. Keep in mind all water is holy and we can always use it to bless ourselves and others. Some of the most powerful anointing water ever available is the cosmic dew that forms each morning especially that of the summer solstice. In fact, in many magical traditions it is customary to roll around naked in the cosmic dew of the summer solstice because it profoundly magical properties.

One of the things that makes water so magical for us is that we each have such a deep relationship with it. Water is a teacher that advances and expands our consciousness. And, shifting our collective focus to having access to the purest water would change the entire world and how we choose to participate in it. Water is the one tangible element that every living sentient being needs. Water connects all living beings in one common space because we all need it. I like to think of the watering hole at night in the Sahara dessert where predators and prey unite and all enjoy the water’s blessings together.

Connecting with and harnessing the magic of water reminds me to treat water differently. I’m more conscious of water and the water I put into and onto my body. This also moves me to be more conscious of not only what I drink but also what I eat, what I surround myself with, the music I listen too and, what I put onto my body. In these ways water is expanding and deepening my self awareness, compassion and gratitude for the magic of the divine that is all around me and within me. Therefore, it’s so important for all of us to have access to clean water and not just the illusion of clean water. For example, there is a huge difference between wild fresh spring water or well water versus chemically treated public tap water or, water stored in plastic versus water stored in glass or copper, chlorinated water versus salt water, elixir water that has been blessed and water that hasn’t, as well as, water that is in motion and water that remains still. All water is sacred but not all water has the same frequency. Salt water is one of the highest frequency waters naturally available in our world because it has a higher crystallinity—like plasma. It is highly medicinal and it maintains a high level of purification that is rich with life. Which is why swimming in the ocean can be so healing and therapeutic.

Water is infinite and can magically transform and seemingly manifest spontaneously appear out of ‘thin air.” And, after my studies with the water I began to perceive the universe radically differently than how I was educated in school. I perceive of the universe as one vast ocean filled with water in varying degrees of density and in a variety of different states of matter, with of course, pockets of earth covered with dome like bubbles that are filed with air where other worlds are formed—big and small that are filled with abundant lifeforms. For me, the universe is like an endless sea—fountain of creation— a cosmic dance of water and light giving birth to prima materia. I also consider water to be a form of liquid light because it too appears clear but also contains all the colors just like light. Water can also travel anywhere through out all of space and time. Because water is eternal and is known to have memory therefore, it allows us to reach into the past and, because of its eternal nature, it can also reach far into the future. Water is like energy, it can’t be created or destroyed only transformed and it can even traverse through different dimensions of space and time.

If your looking to strengthen your relationship with water, start letting water speak to you, go out and dance in the rain and start speaking to your water and bless the water every time you come into contact with it. One way you can do this is by cupping the water in your hands, and during the time it takes for that water to slip out of your fingers and back into its source, pray with the water. Bless the water in whatever way makes sense for you—prayers that you call on, a song or even just a heartfelt intention that this water go back into its source bringing with it your blessings, your love and your prayer for all the waters on our Earth to be blessed. This prayer will be received as soon as the water returns to its source and begin harmonically resonating your gift of prayer and blessing throughout its travels of space and time around the universe.

So, next time you’re out communing with water maybe you can ask it to show you how water works with humans? From water’s perspective, how does it mysteriously engage us?
Connecting with nature and the elements and, working with elemental magic, such as, the magic of water is some of my greatest passions in life. I love talking about different rituals and ways of connecting to the Earth in a way that deepens our presence and awareness of the magic and sacredness that lives inside of us and all around us. So I’d love to hear from all of you beautiful water beings, what are some ways you like to work with water? Let me know and share your experiences with me.
Here is a water invocation to get you started:
“Dear divine sacred waters here and now I evoke the elemental force of water, the fluidity of infinite shapes and forms. Flowing source of adaptability, emotion and life. I seek the pure spring within that might drink deep of change, nourishment and grace. I call you fourth to wash away all that needlessly binds and to move fluidly in this world. Ocean and river, ripple and rain, water, I call thee.”
I hope you enjoyed my discoveries from water as my teacher and I wish you many blessings on your journey with water now that you have been initiated into the magic and medicine of water.

Grief & Pain:
The Pathway & Keys to Activating More Abundant, Radiant and Unshakeable JOY
One of the biggest misconceptions I have come across in my professional career as a spiritual healer is that people want to move through their healing journey by avoiding pain… And is that even possible?—in short, no. If you’re looking for true healing resolution and integration and, not just temporary feel-good short-term remedies, then pain is not only an inevitable part of the healing process but quite literally it is also the only way out. The only way to free yourself from the looming chains of fear, pain, grief and suffering is moving right through the middle of it all and learning from all of its emotional wisdom. It is not only a requirement but also it’s the magical key for true authentic healing, integration, embodiment and, emotional freedom. However, I have also discovered there is more than one key required to open this door of unshakeable joy.
In fact, what I have revealed through my own healing journey and shamanic studies is the true path of healing is moving right through the storm of emotions, pain, and uncertainty and a good healer will facilitate a safe container and offer the support and presence of their solid, clear and coherent energetic structure allowing an individual to move through their suffering, understanding its origination and, as the emotional body processes, emotes and releases all of this pain that has been stored within the energetic fields of your greater self—inner standing why this pain is there in the first place—then the nervous system will begin to recalibrate itself in response to the emotional purging, allowing your energetic structure to self-adjust, correct and harmonize with the strongest, most present and coherent energetic field available which would be the healer. Therefore, the healer’s magic and medicine is only as powerful and effective as the depth to which the healer is able to heal themselves which is one of the many reasons why healers often had difficult life experiences themselves because it is through those painful moments of initiation the healer was able to collect their healing tools, skills, medicine, wisdom and access their unique magic. One note I would like to clarify here before diving deeper is understanding the origination of your wound is the 2nd key required to unlocking radiant joy however, this is where it gets tricky because we all think we already know the source of our pain and, in which case you would be able to heal yourself however the point of origin of our wounds often comes from a place where we least expect it.

It is so common in modern society to avoid our pain rather than acknowledge it, figure out why its there and to bravely move right through the center of it. We even give it modern idioms like: retail therapy, bing watching, doom scrolling, Y.O.L.O., treat yourself, work-a-holic, etc. Instead of surrendering to the divine messengers of emotional discord, we often access anger, disassociation, distraction, avoidance and pleasure seeking however; underneath all of these clever ways to cope with unresolved trauma is often times a great deal of unprocessed grief and sadness from our ancestors, our “coming into being” in this world, our biography and our family of origin. Most of society today considers grieving as a sign of weakness and vulnerability when in fact allowing oneself to grieve fully is a sign of true strength, courage and emotional intelligence.
I’ll always remember the funeral of my Korean great grandmother “Harmony” and witnessing my great aunt Connie breakdown and wail in sorrow for loosing her mother. Its was such a primal, instinctual, mournful, soulful and yet chillingly-beautiful sound that continues to haunt me and teach me. In Korean culture grieving out loud, crying with your family and wailing to your ancestors is a sign of deep respect and love for those who have transitioned into the Spirit World. The grieving ‘song' of my late great aunt Connie still brings buckets of tears to my eyes because I know there is a deep well of unprocessed grief in our lineage that may take a few generations to fully honor and process. Something I know my entire family: my mother, my uncle, my siblings, all of my cousins and I have all been working through and will continue to do so until we join our beloved ancestors.

Being in touch with all of our emotions including the uncomfortable ones reconnects us with our humanness and we humans posses some extraordinarily powerful and unique magic. For example, when a child dies it is devastatingly sad. My great grandmother Harmony lost 4 of her 8 born children during the the wars that swept through Korea and there is no way to use positive thinking or positive feeling to bypass any of these tragedies my family, the Korean people and everyone involved experienced. We must first acknowledge and accept what is without any wishes or desires for things to have been any different—fully, wholly and completely at peace with what occurred including relinquishing the blame and judgement we may still carry. Then we must feel the depth of all the emotions that come with agreeing to our wounds exactly how they happened—that is what makes us human, it is one of the magical abilities we are all born with. And so, part of our healing journey is reconnecting with our humanity and when we are in contact with our humanity that brings us into resonance with compassion and what it means to walk compassionately upon this Earth. Pain will always be a part of our path. It is a natural part of life and there is no way to avoid it—avoiding it would be to avoid our humanness, our humanity and our compassion. There is no point of completion to our healing journey where we reach a point where we no longer feel any pain, a point where we don’t ever have to go there again. This imaginary “finish line” simply doesn’t exist and it is an illusion that many fall into.

Decades later we may still be processing what happened in our childhood, our previous relationships and our inherited ancestral traumas. But as we engage with our healing work our relationship to our wounds mature, evolve and change over time. Our pain goes from being the worst thing that ever happened to us to becoming a companion that teaches us to walk gently on the Earth with grace, forgiveness, compassion and our humanness. To treat people with respect, to look at a more complete story when we meet somebody—not just looking at what is being presented but rather looking at the possibilities of what has brought this person to this place (i.e. drug addicts, absent parents, criminal behavior, anger issues, etc.).
And so our wounds become our teachers and companions. So often people come to me with their problem and say they want to get rid of it and my philosophy is not in getting rid of what moves us towards healing and wholeness but changing how we choose to be in relationship with it. Am I going to just be the victim and is this pain only going to impact me negatively…? -or- I was a victim and I accept that I was a victim and this did happen to me. So now that I accept this pain in my life, what role can this pain play in creating my destiny. Because fate is something that was given to us however destiny is what we chose to do with what we have received. For example, do we run from and avoid our negative feelings or do we want to be people who have an open and honest relationship with our wounds and pains. Because when we have that open and honest relationship with that which is a source of pain for us that make us more compassionate towards others and so our contribution to the Earth is more compassion, more love, more understanding and more unity and fellowship. In other words, “I recognize what’s inside of you because there is a part of me that has had that experience too and there is a part of me that recognizes that feeling within me.” This ability to stand in the other person’s shoes and recognize where they are allows us, in that moment, to feel a connection and oneness with that person or people. This is another superpower of our humanness.

Sometimes there are people that come to us with stories we can’t relate to but, because of our own personal experience and because we are in contact with our own wounds and we’ve explored them, we’ve worked through them and we’ve journeyed right through the middle of them, we are able to place ourselves in the other person’s shoes as if it happened to us. That is how we can heal the world by feeling our pain, being in touch with it rather than trying to get rid of it, allow it all the space it needs to unfold and teach us its wisdom of compassion. Now-a-days it is so easy to avoid our pain we can smoke cigarettes and marijuana, eat sweet treats, watch pornography, drink alcohol, play on our phone, watch tv, work all the time, etc. We can hypnotize and numb ourselves out of contact with our felt sense of the world and our human nature through all of the diversions that are available to us in this day in age. And so, each human being walking this world may have some form of addiction. We must ask ourself, “am I trying to distract myself from what’s beneath the surface?” And please note: sometimes distracting ourself from what is really going on is necessary but this is a purely temporary solution.
We can also choose to be the person that really absorbs everything that is going on around the world and watching the news 24/7 and getting really involved and swept away in every detail of what’s happening in the world and so we get caught in this very narrow view of how bad the world is. The other side of the extreme is completely disconnecting and only allowing that which makes us feel good or that which is positive into our lives and I think as human beings we need to be balanced. To walk with our wounds not as badges of honor but as teachers and wisdom keepers and from this place we can explore the full depth of what it means to love unconditionally. There is a lot that our modern society may not yet understand about the purpose of pain but in my extensive studies with one of the world’s master teachers and elders in Systemic Family Constellations I have learned that our pain is an invisible thread of love—simply longing for reconnection and integration. Our pain is our spiritual call back to unification, wholeness and unity consciousness.
Another great teacher of mine African elder Subonfu Some reveals how there is so much that we, as a modern society, need to grieve more thoroughly in order to make way for more abundant joy in our lives. From her tribal perspective she notes we need to properly grieve the our loss of loved ones, the loss of the older versions of our selves through every one of life’s initiations, the loss of our true identity as we allowed society to shape into who we’ve become, the loss of our motherland, the loss of our ancestral wisdom and magic and, the loss of forgetting our divine cosmic origins and identity—just to name a few.
If we only want to reach for the “love and light” positive feelings we end up creating an inauthentic reality—a filter where everything in life appears to be great but deep down inside there remains an insatiable lingering whisper that knows there is something more and yearns for something that all the pleasure-seeking and “love and light” in the world can’t provide; which is the majority of what we see throughout our modern society, new age spirituality and social media. This whisper that many try to avoid, is often the unheard cry of grief. Grief is just a more complex dimension of love patiently waiting for us to to acquire its magical key to unlocking unshakable joy, unconditional love and unity consciousness.

The Healing Frequencies of Color: Home Design

As we meditate on the major themes for the new year, healing emerges at the top of the list and, one primary healing tool that we can often over look is our home environment. In fact, we consider our home to be the most sacred, protective, and nourishing healing sanctuary spaces that we have access to and regard it as medicine for our physiology & nervous system, our mental & emotional health as well as our spiritual & energetic vibrancy. Therefore, we lovingly maintain an exceptionally clean and organized home, which is not always easy when we share our home with four animals plus the two of us. However, instead of drifting out of space and time on our phones, as we can sometimes find ourselves doing, we carefully curate our home and intentionally make time to sit back and consciously enjoy it and, offer it deep appreciation for all the nourishing support, comfort, beauty and inspiration it provides for us and our family. This often looks like making a medicinal herbal tea or, my personal favorite, healing ceremonial cocoa (organic cacao, Ceylon cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, allspice, clove and a dash of black pepper and sometimes a splash local unfiltered honey, date sugar or maple syrup) and allowing our home to comfort us as we relax into a conscious gaze around our home with profound gratitude and love, talking to our home, visiting with the cherished memories immortalized around our home, blessing our home every single night, visiting with our ancestors at our ancestor table, lighting some candles or incense or, gifting our home with some fresh cut greenery from the garden. Our home constantly reminds us to live a more intentional, grateful and healing life and one of the most potent medicinal properties our home offers us is the healing power of color!

Color is a frequency of light reflection that bears the capacity to affect our mental, emotional and even physical state of being. One of the main colors we chose for our home is teal. Teal is a mixture of greens and blues and offers the healing properties of both colors.
GREEN is the most predominant color found all over the world and, that is because it is one of the most healing colors that balances our energies, reduces inflammation and high blood pressure, soothes the autonomic nervous system and, promotes inner-peace and revitalization of our entire energetic system. It is the color associated with the heart chakra and increases our capacity for love and compassion which are two of the highest frequency emotions we can experience. Green hues leaning towards the blue spectrum, i.e. teal, can be the most powerful healing vibrations of all the colors.
BLUE is another predominant color of our world as it is the color of our sky and oceans. Blue is known for its calming and relaxing qualities. It is used to quiet our energetic nervous system as well as strengthen and deepen our breathing. Blue can also help activate and awaken our divine intuition, creativity and inspiration. To harness all of blue's healing potential it should be balanced with warmer colors.
YELLOW/GOLD is a stimulating color that exudes joy and vibrancy which is great for reawakening your enthusiasm for life. It can also be used to increase confidence and optimism. Yellow is connected with the solar plexus chakra and is known to promote gastrointestinal health, a vibrant immune systems and detoxifying our physical and mental bodies.
ORANGE is a socially stimulating color that promotes the exchange of joy and wisdom. It is great for our emotional and muscular systems but too much orange in our environment can have an adverse affect on our nervous system so it should be balanced with shades of blues, greens or purples.
RED is a warming and energizing color that activates our physical life force energy. Red, connected to our root chakra, strengthens our energy levels including our will power, passion and, courage but too much red can be over-stimulating and aggravate our nervous system therefore red needs to be balanced with grounding colors like blacks and browns.
VIOLET/PURPLE is a high-vibrational color that is deeply healing, soothing and purifying for the physical and spiritual dimensions of our being. Violet stimulates our connection with the divine including creative inspiration, expanding our awareness and promoting dream activity. Reddish purple is beneficial for balancing the energetic polarities of our body while bluish purple can help reduce inflammation and disease.
PINK is a color for awakening compassion, love and purity. It soothes emotions of anger and neglect and promotes the ability to see beyond with greater clarity and discover overriding truths. Pink also stimulates a happy and robust immune system.
BROWN is another deeply healing and grounding color that is very effective for our emotional and mental health. Brown awakens our common sense, brings us back down to earth and, promotes healthy discernment and clear boundaries.
WHITE contains and reflects the entire light spectrum and is the color of purification and creativity. White is very stabilizing for our energetic nervous system and amplifies the affects off any color it is paired with.
BLACK also contains the entire light spectrum but in a different capacity than white. Black is an absorbing color therefore it can be great for protection, grounding, detoxifying and calming. Black should be used sparingly so that is doesn't consume or overpower the energy of your space and paradoxically, every space should contain a little touch of black. It works best in conjunction with other colors especially white which can balance the energetic polarities of our being.
As we prepare to begin a new calendar year we hope to provide you with a new perspective and a deeper insight to your surrounds and the abundance of healing opportunities at our creative fingertips!
